What is the NBSE State Talent Search Examination?
The State Talent Search Examination (STSE) 2024 in Mathematics and Science is an initiative by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) to promote and encourage STEM education among Class IX students. Eligibility Criteria for NBSE STSE 2024
Only students currently enrolled in Class IX are eligible to participate in the State Talent Search Examination (STSE) 2024.
Stages of the State Talent Search Examination
The examination will be conducted in two stages:
Stage 1: District Level
- Exam Type: Written examination with multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- Question Development: All questions will be prepared and moderated by PARAKH, NCERT, New Delhi.
- Participants: Registered institutions must provide 50% of their Class IX enrolment to the Board by 27th August 2024 using the registration form available on the NBSE website. The form should be emailed to stemnbse[AT]gmail.com.
- Exam Date: The district-level examination is tentatively scheduled for 10th September 2024 at district headquarters.
Stage 2: State Level
- Project Work: Selected students from the district level will develop a Science or Technology project aimed at benefiting the community.
- Mentoring: Participants will receive mentorship from PARAKH, NCERT, New Delhi, and a teacher from their institution to develop their project.
- Participants:
- Top 3 students from districts with up to 20 schools.
- Top 5 students from districts with up to 50 schools.
- Top 7 students from districts with more than 50 schools.
- State Level Exam Date: The state-level examination will be held in October 2024, followed by a three-day course in Kohima.
Prizes for the State Talent Search Examination
Participants at the state level will receive cash prizes and certificates. All participants will also be awarded certificates of participation. Schools are encouraged to motivate their students to take part in this examination and showcase their talents in STEM.
