What is CBSE Science Exhibition?
The CBSE Science Exhibition 2024-25 is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education. This exhibition is open to all CBSE students from Classes 6-11. It provides a platform for students to demonstrate their understanding and application of scientific concepts through innovative projects. The last date for submission is 10th September 2024.
Theme of CBSE Science Exhibition
The main theme for the CBSE Science Exhibition 2024-25 is “Science and Technology for Sustainable Future.”
The sub-themes include:
- Food, Health & Hygiene
- Transport and Communication
- Natural Farming
- Disaster Management
- Mathematical Modelling and Computational Thinking
- Waste Management
- Resource Management
Eligibility of CBSE Science Exhibition
- This exhibition is open to all CBSE students in two categories:
- Category I: Students of Classes 6-8
- Category II: Students of Classes 9-11
- Students from affiliated schools are invited to prepare research-based science projects or exhibits related to the sub-themes listed above.
Guidelines for Participation
- Schools must register online, pay the registration fee, and submit the project/exhibit between 16th August 2024 and 10th September 2024 at the CBSE Science Exhibition Portal.
- Schools must select whether they are an Indian or Foreign school during registration.
- Registration Fee:
- Indian Schools – Rs.3000/- per team
- Foreign Schools – Rs.3000/- per team
- Each team can have a maximum of two students and one mentor science teacher.
- A school can register a maximum of two teams.
- Once registered, the names of students and mentors cannot be changed.
- The selected sub-theme and project title cannot be changed.
- Teams will receive unique login credentials for submitting their projects online.
- Projects can include investigation-based studies, application of science principles, or novel solutions to challenges.
- Eco-friendly materials should be used in the preparation of exhibits.
- Schools are advised to register and pay the fee within 12 days of the circular’s issuance and submit the project by 10th September 2024.
- Teams must submit project details (title, description, materials, images, video) within the submission period.
- Entries will be screened before the regional/national level exhibitions.
Selection Process
The exhibits will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Creativity and imagination: 20%
- Originality and innovativeness: 15%
- Scientific thought/principle/approach: 15%
- Technical skills, workmanship, craftsmanship: 15%
- Educational value, scalability, and utility: 15%
- Economics (low cost), portability, and durability: 10%
- Presentation – effectiveness of display and explanations: 10%
The decision of the experts will be final. The regional stage of the exhibition will be held at different venues across the country. Participating schools must bear all expenses related to participation and make their own lodging and boarding arrangements.
